2011 |
Coars (NE) Ltd.
We moved from it's
original premises to a new larger store at Lemming Bar,
Northallerton, and also doubled the number of staff by employing
three new employees, Jonathan Brown (Van Sales) and Kathryn
Lawson (Sales Assistant) from Farmway and David Donaldson
(Delivery Driver).
We currently have
stores at Garstang, Lancashire, Leeming Bar, North Yorkshire and
a Market Shop at Skipton Cattle Market, North Yorkshire.
We can now say that Coars Ltd covers the
width of the country, “Coast to Coast”, which we believe is
testament to the level of service, quality of products and
service we have to offer. |
| 2010 |
Expanded further into the county of
Yorkshire by taking on a branch at Northallerton that was
previously run by Delaval. This new branch is called Coars (NE)
Ltd and has three employees, Allen Laverick a salesman and two
engineers, John Trenholme and Brian Eves.
We now have the main country store at
Garstang, a market shop at Skipton and another branch in
Northallerton. |

2009 |
2009 Sold our first Delaval VMS, (
Robotic ) Voluntary Milking System to Rose Farm, Hambleton.
Hopefully this will be the first of many !

2007 |
On March
1st 2007 we celebrated 25 years as the areas premier Country
Store and on March 1st we shortened our name to Coars and adopted a new
logo to promote a fresh outlook for the future. We also moved from our
premises on Green Lane West to a new larger, improved store just next
door. The move was needed to cope with the expansion of the business
into a modern customer friendly Country Store able to contend with the
needs of the farmer, upon whom we have built our business, and the
demands of the general public. |

2002 |
There were big changes when we moved from our
premises of 20 years to a larger site on Green Lane West in Garstang due
to outgrowing our shop and warehouse and also the re-development of the
Cattle Market for housing. |

1998 |
It was a remarkable year for Coar Farm
Supplies Ltd when we were named National Dealer of the Year by Alfa
Laval Agri, in recognition of our achievements with regard to the sales
and service of Alfa Laval milking parlours and equipment. |

1997 |
Expanded further into South Lancashire and North
Manchester when Roy Stafford & John Alderson joined our sales team from
Tom Grays (Bolton) Ltd with their service
engineer Neil Shutt. |

Installed the areas first Alfa Laval Rotary
Milking Parlour at Sand Villa Farm in Cockerham. |
| 1990 |
Became the Deosan
Dairy Hygiene main agents for the area and are now the Premier Distributor for the
North of England |
| 1989 |
Adam Coar, Harry and
Eileen's son joined the family company after
spending two years working on a local farm |

1988 |
Employed our second Van Salesman John Broadbent, to further
expand our area to cover the whole of Lancashire, John stayed with the
company until he retired in 2002. |

1987 |
Were made the Alfa Laval Agri main agents for
Lancashire taking the dealership over from Dairy
Services who were based in Walton Summit and subsequently employed our
first Dairy Engineer Chris Moorby who had worked for Dairy Services. |
| 1986 |
Embraced new technology when we invested in
our first
computer system, meaning that we no longer had to write our invoices by
hand. |
| 1985 |
We Employed our first Van Salesman Brian
Davies, to cover the local area and a month later our first Delivery
Driver Shaun Reid. Both employee's are still with our company. |
| 1982 |
The Company was formed by Harry and Eileen Coar
and was based on Preston's Cattle Market in premises previously
occupied by Gibsons of Garstang. |
